Previous owners?

I've had someone contact me regarding a domain I caught 6months ago saying he was the previous owner and just 'forgot to renew it'.

Is there a way of tracking who the previous registrants of .uk domains were. I'm assuming Nominet keep the records. Do they allow this kind of request?

Little tip for the future.

Use GoogleDesktop search and check any potential catches before they drop. Then if you need a whois record for name several months after you caught it, then in all liklehood it will stoed in your Desktop cache.

Anyway might not be any use to you now, but has proved useful to me a couple of times this year.

Best Regards

not a bad idea, but this is from months ago... caches cleared a bit since then.

You won't have to look far to find pervious domain owners on here :)

Nominet's runaway #1 standard answer to customers is, allegedly,
"We can't do that."

It is good he has stated that he was at fault.

I have known names upto a year after catching them that Nominet have reclaimed due to 'cancelling them in error' ie. renewal notice sent to wrong postal address etc.
