I've set new nameservers for one of my domains but a whois shows that their still set to sedoparking.com - It's been about a week now, how long does it take to up date NS from a parked domain?

for a .co.uk the nameserver change should be a matter of seconds for the whois, and a couple of hours to propogate.

If you're creating new nameservers for domain xxxx as ns1.xxxx.co.uk ns2.xxxx.co.uk then so long as the registrar of the domain ( I normally do this by temporarily retagging to 123reg to create the nameserver) has done the correct polling of the rrot severs then it should take 24-48hrs for the nameservers to be active if set up on the server side as well.

If its been a week then I doubt they have actioned the change at all. For me I change 10 or so each day and its done in seconds. I dont even have to wait to propagate.

The whois change is pretty instantaneous, but the propogation is from the root servers down to the ISP dns servers to clear their caches and show the updated nameserver info. Before that the domain will be directed to the old nameservers.

Still this is a matter of minutes-hours, not days

With .com etc takes me upto 24 hours to view but every .uk Ive changed in the last 6 months (atleast 6-700 .uk) Ive propagated in minutes. I always check right after I move them. Only problems I get is browse caches .. then just doing ww2.domain etc will make it resolve.

Well I spoke to GD and they just gave me instructions to change the nameserver.... which I had already done

Hi El Dude,

We just checked your account, and it appears that all of your domains are parked properly. However, please shoot us a PM if you experience any further problems and we will be happy to check your account again for you.

(Good eye Rob :p )

All the best,
