opinions.co.uk and opinions.uk and opinions.org.uk

Hi,

New joiner hoping to participate and seek wisdom and guidance!

Looking for some ideas as to what both domains may be worth and any pointers on the best way of marketing them.

opinions.co.uk and
opinions.uk and
opinions.org.uk

Thanks for your time

Jeff

Thanks. Yes, we registered and used them exactly for that but never needed to build a business generating web site as such.

You could probably sell them both together on here for high £xxx. To an end user if you could manage to find one, maybe low £xxxx.

Thanks. I'd like to sell them, but there's no rush, and I certainly wouldn't want to give them away! Who would? :D

I've no experience in selling domains, but I do recognise that the value is to try and create some market for them. In the end you need a few people really wanting them with some cash .. but I'm really clueless to know where to start and where to feel the market value for them might be. The online tools vary considerably and I got a Sedo valuation a few years ago that said around £10k One online valuation said £130k another said less than £100.

Might as well be random number generator, that is pretty much what the online valuation tools are, can't trust them.

Have you owned both this and satisfaction since the 90's? ever been contacted in the past about selling?

Yes, I've owned them (and the other thread) since the early '90's. Sadly because of overwhelming spam, I have had to have very robust mail filters and effectively we have only "received" emails to a very limited number of hidden non-guessable email addresses. The rest are dumped at mail server level. So I'm basically saying I wouldn't have seen any contacts about them.

I only missed satisfaction.com by a few days ... a source of some regret ...

...meant to add ... my heart missed a beat when one of them - domainindex valued satisfaction.co.uk at $203,000 .....

I would say at least high xxxx with the necessary end user and a fair wind.

Definitely a hold.
This is not really the place to get reliable valuations, some on here are predominantly buyers ( taking advantage of the times ) and will talk prices down.
If you did want to sell quickly on here you would have to take a hit.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciated.

When you say "hold" .. for what . and what should I be doing? Just waiting? I'm not time constrained at all. Do buyers find their way to me via the for sale sign I posted on the sites - or is that me being dumb?

I like this quote by Rick Shwartz

“My job was not to sell it for 15 years until that one [right buyer came along]. My job was to sit on the beach with my ginger ale and my piña colada and wait for that one guy because I could have gone all over earth and I wouldn’t have found the one guy. It was much easier for the one guy to find me."

Thanks. I liked the quote as well - until I realised the originator drinks ginger ale and piña colada. I'm prepared to try any cocktail at least once, but one has to have a set of minimum standards.

In my opinion the singular is more desirable than your plural and that domain name is already in use. The singular is certainly the one I prefer. Your mileage may vary, however potential buyers may factor this into any offer because many would not wish to see visitors typing in the singular variant.

If you're looking to sell, spend some time locating relevant end users by Googling or searching databases. You may find the registrant of the singular would consider purchasing it. Otherwise list it on here and see what people lowball you. :)

Funny, because I could have bought both, but on the basis that our business was seeking opinions rather than opinion we were happy with this one.

Appreciate the view, as it all adds.

Thanks.

Your business is certainly seeking multiple opinions. However opinions are usually individual, hence I would be asking for someones opinion of something. I suppose I could state that I am "interested in your [individual] opinions" however I feel I have a preference for saying I am "interested in your [individual] opinion".

If you had the pair I'd be interested in both together.

Thanks,

We pioneered online surveys and customer panels and we most certainly were seeking opinions from individuals on a range of topics in the surveys rather than a single opinion on a singular topic. In fact it never happened once. Semantics are a wonderful thing!

But thanks for your opinion,

:)

For no other reason than boredom I added opinions.org.uk to the other two.

Registered today I see. Are you formally asking for bids? If so, £100.

That is the first piece of business I've seen you attempt on here

I thought your reason for being a member was purely to post sarcastic messages.

Thanks for clarifying .... I must admit I took it as being "forum humour" as I as a newby would of course not be accustomed to.

:D

Hi,

I think satisfaction.co.uk is good, personally I find it a touch long and clunky, but pretty memorable - no plurals to worry about :) ... elicits a good positive feeling when said aloud, brand potential, so wholesale low ££££, perhaps mid ££££+ to that one man.

Don't feel too much love on opinions.co.uk esp. without singular, mid £££+ would be looking to let go.

good luck.
