I sold some domains with the help of you guys a while ago (energy drink domains)..

for a while, i have been purchasing domains like hotcakes, wasted lots of money, but much of it has been a learning experience, so not a complete waste.

last year i went on a spending spree and bought lots of oled domains, as i believe this is going to be the future.. unfortunatly looking at a lot of them now, i think it's been a complete waste..

I have just donated £20 to acorndomains via donate button.. sorry it is not much, but i am actually skint , buying domains for me had turned into an addiction lol

so.. is oledtablet couk a good gamble? apparently this year is the year of the tablet PC, and oled screens are the best... so i've read..

2 other of my domains that i think stand out are .,, 2160pprojectorDotcom and cabletidydotco.uk (bought it a couple of months ago, has good search volume)

is there anyway I can list all my domains (99% worthless) on here or in a private message to someone to see if any of them may be worth something now or could be in the future?

Chris helped me a while back and pointed out some domains which might be "ok", and he advised me to not keep buying domains on impulse, but i did not take his advice... and have since, bought many more :(

Thanks for any help

Hey ho ... you won't be the first. At least you have sold some domains. I think attempting to sell some domains before accumulating too many is a good discipline because then you get a much better feel for the market.

I think a lot of domainers (me included early on) have an interest in technology domains and can get slightly seduced by them. Sure, oled technology is very cool (my laptop has a nice LED screen), but that future tech domain is only going to be a good one if it turns out that the exact match keyphrase, i.e. "oled tablet" starts getting decent search traffic. Whether that happens or not depends on what term goes into popular usage, and with something like "oled tablet" it's by no means certain. In my view it's probably unlikely because people are unlikely to use "oled" as a qualifier when searching.

Have you wasted your money on this particular domain? No, because any domain can be used to start an affiliate site, so the £7 or so on the domain would not be a waste if you learnt how to build affiliate sites.

Will you waste money on many of your other domains in your new portfolio? Quite possibly, because domains really need to be very high quality to be able to sell them on to someone else, and if you've made a newbie mistake of thinking domains that are "near enough" will be easy to sell, e.g. you've bought a digital projectors domain similar to my exact match term, digitalprojectors.org, but you've added a qualifier like say 2160pdigitalprojectors, that domain might be a lot harder to sell on than you'd think (although again, it would be fine for an affiliate site).

Thanks Chris, much appreciated.. i will try to learn how to do an affiliate site for the 2160pprojectorDotcom and cross fingers 2160p becomes the next HD.. is there anyway of telling if/how much a similar domain might be making.. like this www.1080pprojectorDOTcom ? of course, 2160p doesn't really exist much yet..

I have so many domains with 2160p, qhdtv, uhdtv, oled, 3doled, 3doledtv, oledwallmount etc etc..
i was drunk one day.. and i bought qhdtv as i thought the new HD will be called Quad HD... but then i thought, what if they call it "qfhdtv", or quadhdtv, or qdtv... in the end i spent about £100 and felt depressed, and then to top it off, i saw a video of a 2160p screen which said "Ultra HD TV" on the TV.. so i then bought uhdtvs.co.uk lolol... now, my 123reg list is so long with so much junk that it makes me feel sick.
I DID try to check the search terms for the older technologies to see if there was search traffic.. i.e. i checked 1080p projector, and lcd wall mount..

I thought that too, I'll be very surprised if you don't sell that one day for a niceish profit.

I actually paid for this domain from a trader to promote one of my newbie sites.. cost me cheap though.. wish I had some skillz/time to develop stuff properly.
any ideas on value? (cabletidy)

also have 2160ptv net and couk

I'm crap with prices, I'd list it at 4 figures though if it was mine, that would be an end user figure though rather than trying to flog it on here.

If you're looking fOr a quick sale, you could try submitting it to domainlore.co.uk . I should think you'll get around £200 (maybe a bit more, since it's sparked some interest here). That's the drawback of going for a quick sale though. You won't get end user prices if you need to sell fast.
