Well, I didnt quite expect so many uses of the TRA-NOMINET vps , good to see, there is now a direct vps portal access instead of going through the traditional billing, which make access faster
Direct : https://vps.transcom.net you can use here directly, no more putty !
There have been quite a few questions on using IPv6 with Nominet, heres some answers, we use just IPv6 on all the servers used for online catching at https://transcom.uk
1. Nominet EPP accepts IPv6, it works well, they do however shorten the IP in an odd way, so if your IPv6 contains :0000:0000: they will shorten it to :0:0:
2, If your using mysql at the other end to record data, the IPv6 above shortening wont work, plesk / mysql accepts :: instead of ANY zeros
3. The nominet EPP server IPv6 is 2a01:618:8009:0:844:89d8:a70d:c7d2 , remeber to amend any nmap or other routing for checking response times.
4. If using nmap to get latency, you have to prefix with -6 ie, nmap -6 xxxx etc
Cheers
Bill
