i tried to register a domain yesterday and was given this message today?

and today it has been registered by an individual?

what can be done about this?

Not much IMO.

A few years ago when Nominet dropped domains in big batches, this was a common occurance, the drop scripts couldn't always keep up with Nominet dumping the days drops all at once so some would show free for a while allowing you to reg them manually, only by the time the order had gone through, someone's drop script would take the domain and you had to ask for a refund/credit.

i have had a reply from nominet and it is not good?apparently they have had no application for the domain and they are not happy,they think foul play is evident,1and1 didn't let them know i wanted to register the domain but it was registered later that day,i have to gather evidence for nominet to look into,i think they are having a torrid time with 1and1 lately with the tone of the email from nominet.....the plot thickens.....:twisted:

1and1 are well known for taking hours/days to actually register a domain after you've ordered it, it could be that someone else did actually register it during the time your order was going through whatever crap system they use.

problem i have is that they sent me an email saying that nic had rejected the domain and it was registered later that day?

i think i might start a petition to remove 1and1's tag?,what do you think

Ah, So the domain was still available when you got the email from them?

i have a catalogue of errors from 1and1,from bad billing to having a holding page for a week before letting me access the name.
