.net domain - help required please

Forgive me Admin if I am posting in the wrong section, only it concerns one of my .net domains (undeveloped).

I was just signing up to Affiliate Window but the site would not accept my .net domain as the primary URL.

I then looked into why (as, per AW, it doesn't necessarily have a to be a URL with a site on), so went into my Fasthosts/UKReg control panel/dashboard - the domain isn't even listed there !!?!

Checked the WhoIs - yup, all to me, fine. All looks normal, including default DNS.

Rang Fasthosts - they said a third party is in control of the domain at present - Azo Parking...... (never heard of them) ?!

I haven't touched the domain in any way since I registered it a year ago, after it dropped naturally back then.

I asked Fasthosts what to do, and they just said I need to make a Domain Release request (for a fee !....for my own domain ?!?)
I looked into Azo Parking (as I thought they may be a domain parking company) - can't find anything, apart from the fact they are a car parking company based in Sussex (can't find a website for them)

Does anyone have any experience of what is happening, or can provide a solution ?

Yes it'd help.

If you're showing on whois, it's the registrar who needs to explain how it's in another parties account.

Ask them for the auth code - if they send it to you, transfer it out.

Edit: If you let me know the name I'll run a whois history on it for you.

Just to let you know, I've got an open support ticket with fasthosts - waiting for their reply.
I have to sign off the computer shortly, so I will ask them that in the morning on that support ticket, whether or not I have heard back from them yet.
Update: Fasthosts have replied to a private tweet (DM) - they said their dev. team will look at my ticket when they are back in on Monday.
If you could help any further with the whois history, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks very much for looking it up Systeg.
It's not even like azoparking have their own website (e.g. azoparking.co.uk)
Can they do this to the domain - hijack it, in effect (it was FTR when I registered it) ?
Or have Fasthosts messed up ? Seems very strange, all this.

It's possible that when they used to own this domain, they had it on the same registrar that you now have it on, and although you've registered the domain and the Who-Is is showing your details, the domain might still be associated with their old account at FastHosts, if it wasn't removed from the account when the domain dropped, we know this problem crops up from time to time at the likes of 123-Reg, if that's the case, FastHosts should be able to sort it out easily enough.

Looks like it's a registrar issue - try for that auth code and get it away from them if possible.
