Hi guys,

Looking for an opinion on MusicalInstrumentAccessories/co/uk

I got quite excited when I regged it ( 49,500 exacts-save you looking ) but every post I've read since about long names puts me off it.
I appreciate that it would have more value developed but can a name that
long attract any interest.

Ta for any opinions,

I'd say that the [exact] figure is well off the mark.

(These stats are from the NEW keyword tool)

[musical instrument] 3,000
[musical instruments] 4,500
[musical instrument accessories] 51,400

I'd say it's 50x to 100x higher than it should be.

Thanks for the reply.

I've got a few domains with decent search figures but could never figure out why because the names don't seem quite right/phrasing seems odd. That could be why. I suppose I shouldn't rely on it as much as I do.

Just a thought, I've re-checked the figures for musical instruments and it's showing 301k exacts as opposed to 4500.

I hope i'm using the correct tool (adwords.google.com/select/keyword toolexternal).

You mentioned a NEW keyword tool. Am I missing something

You're right, the new keyword tool shows 218,000 for [musical instruments], I was reading the wrong phrase... apologies. It was [music instruments] that was 4,500 - there's no way of removing suggested phrases on the new version. You can try the beta of the new version if you log into adwords - there's a link at the top - and it means you don't have to use the Captcha every 5 minutes.

I'd still say there was something fishy about the comparative figures of the singular and plural. Google Trends reports 2x the searches on the plural v singular & nothing for the accessories search..

But with your [corrected] figure, both the Keyword tools are showing 100x the the searches for the plural v the singular and 20x the searches on Accessories vs the singular.

I guess like a lot of things, the tools are just aids to common sense - I don't think there's anything wrong with the domain - best way to see is to develop it and see if the traffic fits the numbers - it's worth having if it does, but my guess is that it's due to an automated search somewhere.
