Looking for someone who can move a large WP based site from one host to another.

PM me if you can do it, needed asap

Usually I'd volunteer just don't have the time if there both cpanel hosts I'm sure theres a complete site transfer option that moves files databases everything. check with your support seen a few companies offering this

It's pretty simple, why dont you give it a go yourself?

export the database to an SQL file and reimport on host 2
download your whole httpdocs folder (with show hidden files enabled) and reupload to host 2
change database username and password if not the same in wp-config.php
recursively chmod wp-content to 777.
chmod .htaccess file to 777

If you are changing domain too you can download this tool to search for domain1.co.uk and replace with domain2.co.uk.

I think that's it.

Thanks for the replies, someone has managed to do it for me, wasnt as straight forward as most and took several attempts! :)

I know your sorted now, but for anybody who comes here via google, I use a wordpress plugin called wp move, or wordpress move. Basically it backs everything up, then you configure the options - login to your new host and 'install' your backed up database (again using the plugin, on your new wp install).

I have used it for several sites and its not a big learning curve.

If they have WHM/cPanel you can do a 'Transfer' that moves everything into the new host via SSH exactly as it was. All you have to do then is point domain to new server. Did this a few days ago and was very easy. Hope this helps other people out.
