It wasn't 50k at domainfocus. It was bid up to 105k but didn't hit reserve.

ahh yes - its phones/co.uk I was thinking of went up to 42k ish with reserve of 50k

mobile.co.uk and phones.co.uk had the same published reserve ranges (£50k-£200k), the actual reserves weren't published though. I'm guessing that phones.co.uk was the more expensive of the two, otherwise this sale would make no sense.

yes, im utterly bemused why phones.co.uk won't go properly.

When we were in that auction I remember the Auctioneer was basically saying £50k is whats needed to go - to be prepared to go to 42 and no further seems strange especially in light of other domains going for six figures now. phones for around 50k seems a bargain.

mobiles.co.uk is already established, having mobile.co.uk now is like just having it for the sake of it - alomost a consolation prize.

I would think phones would be more than mobile/co.uk.

sport/co.uk was probably better than mobile/co.uk

actually I don't know who really did buy fly.co.uk. The (proxy?) bidding was done by Dougs though. Would be interesting to hear more about that deal, intended use for the domains etc.
