i want to turn a few of my parked domains in to minisites, but i havnt got a clue how, could anyone list the tools required and some tips?
i have never attempted to make one so wouldnt know where to start.

many thanks.

You will have to learn (X)HTML and CSS and Software like Photoshop, and some text editing software.

Type HTML and CSS tutorials into google, there are loads of websites with very good free tutorials.

If you cant be bothered to learn all that then you will have to pay someone to do it for you.

Pm me if you want a quote on some minisites.

You dont exactly have to learn HTML and CSS do you.

Get Dreamweaver and have a play around. Make some fresh content and add some adsense links. You will soon start to learn. Dreamweaver also has a CSS tool for when you start to make more complex sites.

For a quick introduction you should read this article from my domaining blog. It contains valuable resources for anyone considering minisite development - Domain names - domain name monetization, minisites and niche sites

I would recommend that you follow this up by reading EVERY post on the two threads on this forum.........

Well no....You don't have to learn them but the time you will spend learning dreamweaver would be best spent IMO learning what (x)html and css actually do, dreamweaver will add the code for you, make positioning images easier, and other stuff, but it does add alot of unnecessary code and when it comes to updating your sites it will be alot easier if you know what the hell is going on.

Try 19pages software free from 19pages.com then look at the example sites, right click, view source to see where to put adsence ads. use the same template initially and you will learn as you go.
hope this makes sence.

If you've got no experience at all about building a minisite, but at the same time you want a few up quickly, then Dreamweaver is a good option from a 'helping hand' perspective. Sloppy fat coding or not, it will help you to understand the relationship between the code and the outcome, and you might want to view it as a learning tool until you become a more experienced coder. A lot of experienced coders cut their teeth using Dreamweaver before moving on to other things.

If you are going to take the plunge straight into coding from scratch, then read up on the subject well first. If you are inclined to think that you will struggle with coding, there is a good chance you will find it too daunting and be put off site building all together.

Like most things in life, you'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Just stick at it, whichever route you choose!
