Hello guys,

I would like to hear your opinion for MapsDirections.Co.Uk
The keyword - maps directions receive 74 000 exact UK searches per month.
Maps and directions - receive 6 600 exact UK searches. (The searches are according Keyword Planner).

The script that I am using is a RoutePlanner API from codecanyon. I have a lot of ideas for updates, but my skills are limited. So, lets focus of the domain name at the moment - what are your thoughts for this one? What is the value of the domain and what is your advice - try to sell, or keep it and when have some free money to invest in it?

Thank you in advance!

Boris

G, Bing, street maps, sat nav etc really cant see anyone breaking them even with the most generic investment would be millions and a road to nowhere on chances of return?

Hello namealot,

Thank you for your comment. I know that there is a lot of competition.
On first page when I write maps directions in google.co.uk I receive:
1. Google com maps
2. Google maps UK
Google has occupied the best positions, but on first page there are rac, theaa, yahoo, viamichelin...
Everything depends from the service that you can offer - or shortly - depends how you are ready to spend in development on a maps with more functionality, vision, options that the people maybe like more.

So, lets focus on the value of the domain name - I know that there are a lot of competition. It is hard to be beat, but it is not impossible. There is always place for one more. It is hard to me, that is why I need your help and opinions.

It would not make a return = to investment which = zero commercial value? . It’s only in fairy tales that nothing impossible :)

You mean that is has zero value - may be you are right, may be not. Looking for other opinions for the value of the domain name.

Zero value as there is no hope of developing it to compete with the major competitive offerings from google, bing etc. and the domain isn't anywhere near good enough to sell to one of those competitors either.

Thank you Monkey,

You confirm the opinion of namealot that as a domain name is has no value.
Maybe in future if I order better map api with a good SEO - I will have any chance to make some profit.

Thank both of you - if anybody have any ideas or advices - will be welcome.

Regards,

If it's an area of interest to you you'll need a dotcom and all key tld's with some potential before you even seriously kick off, complimented by some sort of new application you can commercially protect. But to embark on such a journey with a fairly average .co.uk is like embarking on a trip up Mount Everest armed only with your slippers and pajamas.

On the plus side I think there's plenty of scope to bring something new. Not sure what though.

Thank you WalkinDude,

You make me laught with your example. Thank all of you for your opinions!
