Hi eveyone,

Bit new to all this, just wondered if anyone had any ideas what this domain could be worth?

I also have pureluxury.co.uk which I was thinking of selling with it as a package, what are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Simon.

Hi Simon

Welcome to the forum. The domains are nice names and I personally like pureluxury.co.uk the best. You can imagine lots of luxury goods manufacturers using that in a commercial. But (and its a BIG but) you may hold these domains for years without a nibble if you're looking to achieve a decent sale price. I've got a lot of these type of domains and they often don't earn their keep (i.e. the traffic is generally quite low and if you park them on a facility like sedo.co.uk they don't even return their renewal fees). I have sold a few nice non earners over the last couple of years but that is from quite a large portfolio. That is why I (and most other domain investors) now concentrate on good generic domains that return a decent pay-per-click revenue. That way you can build your portfolio and the pay-per-click income more than pays the renewal fees including funding the nice non-earners that may attract a major corporate buyer oneday.

To check the popularity of keywords have a look at the useful suggestions put up on this forum by Admin a few days ago. I personally use the uk overture tool most of the time and you will see that luxury properties is a search term but not that popular. Having said that who knows jaguar may be looking at your pureluxury domain right now! All the best.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Nigel,

Thanks very much for your feedback, it was very helpful.

I have had quite a bit of interest on luxuryproperties.co.uk over the past few weeks since I put a simple holding page up stating that it may be for sale and was really wondering what kind of prices to start quoting people. I appreciate that to the right person/company it could generate a fairly good price.

Thanks again for your comments,

Simon.

Hi Simon,

My personal advice would be not to quote a price to them. Ask them to make an offer first. I was given this advice when I started and it has been good advice. I have on occasions been offered more than the price I would have indicated. If they insist that you quote a price then I generally inflate what I am looking for by two to three times. I have perhaps lost the odd sale but if someone is really keen they will at least tell you the maximum they will give. That's my way of dealing with sales - perhaps some others on the forum go about it another way. If so let's hope they post details here. All the best.

Kind regards,

Nigel
