My poor old N reg Rover (life line to everywhere) has now died :(

So i'm after >>
A good solid runner
Low cc engine
As new as possible
4-5 door preferred (easier access as baby on way)
Tax and tested 6 months at least
....for around £500 - £700 in the Hull - Yorkshire Area

( A late Christmas present from someone on here thats rich would be nice Gift ;) )

Get a nice mk2, mk3 golf, perfect cars for around that price

Hi,

Do you fancy buying at auction, try bawtryauctions.co.uk , if your in Hull, will be 45mins form you? just near RobinHoodAirport, its only a few miles from me, think some of the car credit firms push a fair bit through there so you should be able to pick something up, couple of friends have bought cars form there its not too bad as its not a monster set up like leeds auctions, worth a shot for what your after i'd say..

Have a look on ebay for cars within a 20 mile range of your postcode.

If you see one you like go and look at it and offer cash. Most people selling cars on Ebay look for quick cash rather than letting the car sell on Ebay.

Thanks for the advise and comments.

Done the ebay thing many times and can be running round to find out it doesn't have the MOT after all even when i emailed to confirm, also a good runner swouldn't even start when i've got there  (many stories to be told about buying cars from ebay). Maybe just unlucky

I hate :( looking for cars in that price range as you can get a right gem or a right nightmare 2 months down the road.

Oh well I'll keep looking ;) tonight.

just sell one of your domains then you'll have at least 2k to get something decent..

Well that would be nice wouldn't it :)

If anyone wants to pick 1 or 2 for a few £1000's (or make offers) then PM and let me get that decent car. ;)

Full list -HERE

Some good ones in there ;)

Cheers Hammer :(

If you had not of bought all those me.uk names you would of had enough for a Ferrari 575 (just needs a little tidying)

I do have .co.uk's .com's .org.uk's .eu's .net but yes a lot of .me.uk's

There is indeed alot of rubbish on ebay but at the same time there are alot of bargains to be had.

I bought my E39 5 series a year or so ago off someone I found on ebay VERY CHEAP (For some reason he was getting out the country in a few days...)

My E46 Coupe I found on Ebay and went had a chat with him. Was actualy a dealer and after finding out he had bought it along with an R1 and made a nice amount on the R1 I convinced him to let me have it a good £1k Cheaper Cash. Its amazing what people do when you wave it under their nose and refuse to leave :) 12 months MOT and warrenty aswell

I would say you have picked a perfect time to buy a car anyway, people need a bit of money after Xmas and newyear and cars tend to sell for less in the Winter.

Nice to hear you got a nice deal.

Think I'll raise the money first ;) like you said this time of year people are short of money including me.

So no offers yet on domains :( any good ones jumping out for anyone?

Seriously for the amount you are wanting to spend a VW will be perfect. You really cant go wrong. I used to have a mk2 golf which cost me £600. Great cars and no stupid electronics to go wrong.

Sometimes I wish I still had it. Such a stress free car. If anything ever went wrong which was very rare, you just open up the bonnet and its all infront of you, so simple to fix and maintain.

For something more family and bigger a Passat etc.

Get on the phone, or go out calling to your local main dealers and ask to speak to the new or used car sales manager.

They will be delighted to clear their old part exchanges and tidy their books up in time for the year end. Today is a very good day to do it.
