Local Deals

Hi,

We're thinking of listing 'city specific' special offers on our sites, that pull together all the best online deals relating to that city.

Groupon would be one source, but what are the other ones out there?

Also, if anyone has any experience or tips in integrating Groupon effectively then any tips would be appreciated.

If you want to create a loyal base of followers to your network then you ideally need to create your own group buying section. Will take a lot more management, but otherwise you're just going to be referring people elsewhere. For Norwich, if you haven't seen it already, your main rival will be Tickles.co.uk which has a lot of registered users and has recently partnered with the local newspaper (lots of publicity).

COmpletely agree... We aim to develop the 'Local Deals' section in two phases. Initially with feeds from elsewhere, and then phase 2 will be offering our own local deals.

Currently local businesses can already claim their business on our sites, edit descriptions, tags etc - so for them to able to create discount vouchers, which then appear on our network is the natural progression.

Groupon only has certain large cities in the UK and I've been asking them for Months how I can make City specific banners, this is what they gave me:

Have a look on the likes of Digital Point, Flippa etc. From memory, I'm pretty sure I've seen daily deal affiliate aggregator websites/scripts for sale which may save you a lot of time creating soemthing to easily integrate them all.
