We should have a link category as I am sure long term registrants would make more money selling links from their websites than selling or parking

It would probably make a good addition, aslong as people are aware of the risk when publically selling links.

It does leave you wide open for some shady character to report you to Google.

Aslong as people are discreet with the URLs they 'should' be fine.

Also to allow link trades, some people believe link exchanges are dead, its just not true, link exchanges in the form of swapping links on pages that are solely long lists of links are not particularly worthwhile, but exchanging links on 'normal' pages is still very, very effective.

needs to be with main category

Needs to be with main category AND only links offered from content rich pages....why would Google tell someone off for paying for a link.....most links on the web are advertising.....big players pay for big links on big pages and therefore rank high....Google knows that such a link is therefore important.

What I am sure Google is less kind to is crap links from directory sites

Lee.

Google has recently taking a stance against people buying links. Of course normal, sensible people realise that Google can never trace all paid links, they have no way to identify them.

However i'd warn anyone againsts posts like this:

Me: I'm selling a PRX Link for £XXX on xxx.com anyone want one?

You: Yes please.

Google are actively encouraging people to report forum posts like this and they are issuing penalties. They are not penalising link buyers (although the link may become worthless from an SEO point of view) just the sellers, whos rankings and trust with Google may dissappear...

And admin yes that was pretty well hidden!

Admin, superb. Can feel some copying and pasting coming on.

Reciprocal link on my new site for you too.
