It really depends how much of your life you want to spend embroiled in a fight with one of the most recognised internet brands in the country.
Thanks,
I understood the LM risk potential when I saw it on the droplist as I've been in the travel vertical for about 3 years now and they are direct competitor to several of my clients.
However, like you I am of the understanding it is a generic, in fact "Very" generic keyword that was around long before LM ever was, it was used on Teletext way before the internet even existed for us mortals.
Plus, as it's descriptive of a particular service a DRS would likely fail on those gounds alone. Others travel companies use the same keyword with a suffix, LM Travel for one, although I note LM have tried unsuccessfully to stop that particular company.
I would imagine they will try and I've budgeted as such, but I have a template in mind that will clearly distinguish the site from LM and stop any passing off claim.
I am going to sell Last Minute Flights from it though, the PPC potential is too huge an opportunity although I was thinking of running the site using an umbrella company to allow me to "dump" any liability if they were to win anything major.
So that coupled with the fact that one of my clients is a large Scottish travel agent so I can affiliate sell direct to the airlines and get more than using an affiliate deal means its a deal I think is too good to pass up.
Still be interesting to understand it's worth, I've not been in the UK name game for long and it's a fickle market. I also wonder what it would be worth if it was turning a reasonable profit, but I guess that depends on "reasonable".
I got it for a drop fee.
