an ecommerce website which only sells products of a certain colour.

thinking red or black.

it just popped into my head.

am I onto something or is this just odd?

The White Company is one example I can think of.

Pink business

thanks all.

so youre thinking colour + theme? ie pink + female.

whats male? red? blue?

Thought the word said it all. But if more is required.

Female may be too wide, it depends on how much effort, product line and niche the business would look to occupy,
more likely to go for a more targeted age group or narrow product range such as clothes, toys, household etc.

If you choose a colour, 'pink' is a requested colour, it is a serious business idea to consider 'pink' check out search terms,
check out retail shelves,
check out packaging
and check product ranges.

Consider target audience and range of products, then have USP's (unique selling points) build in to the name and theme.

For some ideas on product ranges see
e.g. http://www.fabu-licious.com/Pink-Gifts/sort/2a/page/all
but it doesn't take many searches to find more 'pink' ideas.

There is a 'pink' demand and 'pink' product ranges to satisfy such demand, I believe 'pink' would work as the basis of an on online niche business.

It would not work so well for gender blue as there is little demand it is simply a convention for boy/girl at early years stage.

Black in my opinion is probably another colour that should be considered if 'colour' would be the central theme of the online business.

I set up pinkshop a while ago, never really got round to adding many products

pink FTR

Yep - got to be pink really!
Think Pink!
who knows - it might be free to reg.

Sadly ThinkPink.co.uk went in 2003.

But I'm sure with a bit of thought you would find a suitable Pink .co.uk name FTR, especially if you choose a niche area.

If you require a pink generic for .co.uk I do have several for sale by the way.

Good luck, whatever colour you bet on.

Limited market yet same set up cost as mass market site  Even exclusively selling a product like Henry Ford you'd have to buckle to the masses ...
