I'm thinking of getting an iPhone for my next contract. I currently have HTC contract phone with t mobile, but the t mobile options look quite expensive. Also in my area t mobile coverage isnt that good. Are there any cheaper options with generous data allowances and also good coverage?

Thanks
Stephen.

I bought a 32Gb iPhone 4 on 3 with the One Plan,

Unlimited data
2000 x network minutes
5000 texts
5000 3 to 3 minutes
£35 a month, but they do other plans.

Seems to have been good so far (since Dec 10)

Are you on T-mobile business?

My business contract with T-Mobile is £23.50+vat a month and I get:

HTC Desire
1000 anytime minutes (including Europe, USA & Canada)
Unlimited Landline Calls
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet

I think it's a bargain, the only downside is it's a 24 month contract but I think most are at least 18 months these days.

Not exactly the same but similar. I agreee it's good value but I fancy an iphone and it seems realy expensive no t mobile. Am going to see what they say when I suggest i might leave.

Thanks - looks good - we live in a semi-rural area so just need to make sure coverage is good enough.

I've you've got a SIM unlocked phone handy you could just get a Free 3 payg sim card and use that to test all of the areas you'll need coverage in? They post you one out for nothing.

I've always been with Everything Everywhere, never tried another network for over 15years.

Love the fact that can roam onto the TMobile network when my signal is non-existent.

Can't comment on the IPhone prices, I think I paid £29 to upgrade to one and promptly sold it on EBay the next day for £400. Love the phone, hate the shape/weight/feel.

another vote for 3 from me, quite simply O2, Tmobile, Voda could not offer the same as the £35 offer from 3, the rest restrict data usage to rediculously low levels yet 3 is 'unlimited' but when I pushed them it actually means @50gb though no action will be taken on your account just a gentle reminder given to your data usage.

Iphone 5 to come out in June, would hang on yet stephen

I would suggest to anyone to buy it straight from Apple and get a GiffGaff sim. It's PAYG, but £10 a month gives you 250 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet. (they ask you what you've been doing if it goes over 20Gb a month - no tethering hough).

The giffgaff tariff sounds great - but might be worth juggling the numbers based on what you can get back via a cashback site like quidco.

I think the topten.com comparison tool, makes things easier to compare when you've got phone price/monthly tariff and contract duration to consider.

With me I choose vodafone as it offered 3G where I lived, shame the signal is crap everywhere else though.

Thanks for all the replies to my original post.

Tmobile are now offering (via retentions), 18 month contract, £25 or £30 per month (100 mins or 300 mins), free data etc and iphone4 (16Gb) for either £180 or £100 depending on which of the tarrifs I choose. I think this looks to be a bargain.

Also, I can get the 32Gb version for £50 or so more.

Realistically, is capacity on the phone going to be an issue, i.e. will i regret going for the cheaper 16Gb version?

Thanks
Stephen.

Depends on what you use it for. Mine was a 32Gb and it's 2/3 full after 4 months.
