I've just been told that IE7 no longer autocompletes the domain when you type in a keyword .com for USA and .co.uk for UK based browsers.

I don't have IE7, can anyone confirm?

IE 7 by default doesn't autocomplete addresses typed in the address bar - it loads your default search engine and searches for the keyword. Whether or not theres an option to change this I dont know - I can have a look - but as far as I am aware (and with all the machines I use) it doesn't add tlds to incomplete urls.

Hope this helps!

As long as url history stays the same I've never been bothered, I've not upgraded from 6 and don't intend to unless there's something spectacular in 7.

Remember that more and more people are migrating to IE 7 so I would advise the use of it if only for testing purposes (of course you would need two machines or dual booting to make sure you have full compatibility between the two different versions).

IE7 has full .png support and tighter security (although as always new loop holes are found in microsoft software each month).

The best feature is tabbed browsing. Something they should have done years ago! :)

I think alot of domain traffic was previously from autocomplete, so I think some of the drop off is due to this "feature".
