hi all. i'm brand new here. learned about acorn domains from a post on another board and thought i'd take a look. i own a bunch of co.uk domains and a sizable percentage of the domains i've sold over the past year have gone to uk buyers, so i thought it makes sense for me to join uk forums and learn more about the market.

Hello and welcome to AD!

Do you have any good/bad domains you would like to share with us?

Rich

Welcome to the forum. Would love hear about sme of the domains you have sold, maybe see if it was any of us who bought them.

thanks for the welcome, rich.

lessee...i've got a lot to choose from in the 'bad' category.

do i go with the one that's bad because it's too long or the one that's bad because it's in spanish (tho i've seen some spanish keywords with british extensions sell)? or maybe one with no obvious commercial purpose? or the extremely speculative one with the hyphen?

hmm. i choose Democracies.co.uk. i regged it shortly after i started domaining, and i didn't understand why my inbox wasn't immediately flooded with offers.

on the 'good' side, i think some of my product domains aren't half bad tho the parked pages really aren't doing much. CyclingBikes.co.uk looks good on the adwords keyword tool, so i'll go with that.

thanks for the welcome fd. i've sold FallingStar.co.uk and Concussions.co.uk.

now that i look back, i really haven't sold a lot of co.uks though i've had uk buyers for some of my .coms, including the most recent one: MedicalNegligenceClaim.com. (hah! i had two uk buyers for that one - the first one flaked out and was almost immediately replaced by a real buyer.)

(i think it felt like a lot because i had another three or so co.uks accepted into sedo premium auctions but, alas, they didn't sell.)

Well done for getting a sedo premium auction, I'm sure they only have 3 character domains and dictionary's these days, lol

hi boxer, future...

yeah, futuredomain, you're right. i had a pretty good run with them for a while, but i don't think i've got any names they'd look twice at now.

Sedo have become the big boys, very big boys, but I have even put some of my domains to not for sale status, because despite a high exact search they have other great domains to sell (no pun), I am even thinking about setting up a simple but functional domain marketplace, I'm trialing two simple scripts at the moment. Will hope full get a few people from here to list thier domains on it for free, its just going to be an open to offers site, nothing too fancy at the moment.

Kind Regards
Leon
