Just curious to know how accurate the visitor count is on SEDO and whether or not it can be manipulated.

I'm looking for domains that generate high type in Traffic and some of the names on the top hit list get thousands of hits per day but don't seam to mean anything.

Just wondering?

I believe most of the stats are accurate but I'm sure some are not.

I've looked into some that are top of the league and know for sure that the stats of some of these must be manipulated (i.e. we may own a better version of the domain and yet this other domain is getting ten times the traffic of ours!!). On occasions we have found multiple domains all pointing to one domain on sedo (which I believe is against sedo rules). The answer is to be careful and also check overture results as it usually gives some indication of traffic (although even overture can give misleading results). We've bought domains (thro' sedo and elsewhere) where traffic ends up a third of what we were expecting so it's all a bit hit or miss, but you do eventually get a feel of a genuine seller and a list of people not to deal with in the future. There are plenty of good buys on sedo - it's a matter of sifting. Happy hunting:)

Well I have a domain that got 38 visitors on ND in May, and June 1->2nd got 4. I moved it to sedo on the 2nd, and it has only had 5 visitors in a week. Not my ideal figure, but maybe its been a slow week :(

Hi Jeewhiz,

Thanks for bringing this up. Please feel free to send us a PM and we will look into the domain for you. It might be possible that the domain has an expired link or something of that nature, so do let us know.

All the best,

Sedo Staff

I'm not here to complain, if i was going to complain, then I'd have contacted you directly. I was merely making an observation.

I've checked the backlinks, and I can't find anything that's changed in the last week.

Again, it might be all the hot sun, and it is a rather seasonal domain, although that wouldn't explain the visitors in May :)

With brits leading the board for p*rno downloads, when the sun is out, they walk the streets instead under the guise of shopping for titilation so I'm told.... Obviously NOT refering to admin in Ox St. ;) ... LOL

lol :) Not a porno name!

Slip and slide is quite popular here - at uni we had a huge tarpaulin as someone's dad worked at a factory where its made. It was about 10m wide, and prob 100m long or so - required a pickup truck to move it once folded up but it was amazing. Just took forever to get it up and running!

Hosepipe ban for me :( So no slip and slide (and i have a paved garden - Ouch!)
