Hi just wondering what you guys thought this domain was worth.

southernpressureclean.co.uk

Thanks

Hi there,

Welcome to AD. :)

As a domain name alone, nothing IMO - but I see you have a site/business up? That's a different matter.

You need the pure generic term really to have some value, i.e. pressureclean.co.uk would have some value. As you can add infinite modifiers to a generic term, it's unlikely (but not impossible) that your domain would have value.

Thank you for your replys. So am I right in thinking drivewayneeds.co.uk would not be worth anything either.
Thanks again

If somebody is prepared to pay you money for it, it's worth something. However, this is a "brandable" as opposed to a "generic" name, and brandables are a lot harder to get right (but not impossible).

Take a look at recent sales on domainlore.co.uk and domainprices.co.uk for more help.

My advice - don't buy too many domains until you have sold on at least one or two.

Sorry to be a pain and sound dumb but what do you mean by it would be harder to get right by being a brandable?
Thanks again

Generic name, e.g. mensshirts.org.uk, relates exactly to a product or service, usually has exact match search volume on Google.

Brandable, either completely made up name, e.g. navito.co.uk, or perhaps something like haroldsmensshirts.co.uk. A term that needs "branding" by advertising for people to be able to recognise and remember.

Then perhaps also the "generic brandable", e.g. lowprices.co.uk. Might have some search volume and be an understood term, but can also be branded through advertising.

Rgds

Brandables are much harder to make a profit on, as there are infinite brands that could be made up, so someone has to like it to buy the name. Generics are quantitative because there is exact search volume on the term itself.

Rgds

I would say attempting to trade "brandable" names is risky but not impossible. Trading generics is safer.

If you want to start on the best footing, ignore .org.uk (especially when you're still learning the domaining ropes). Concentrate on .co.uk as that's the strongest extension. All the other info is spot on.
