We often look at the PPC results in Google for particular searches and, if they are relevant, enter that term for our Sedo parking pages. However, the results that appear are rarely like the ones in Google.

How does it all work?

Also, bizarrely, it seems to be the case that the longer the search term, the more PPC results that appear on our landing pages. To use a made-up example, 'cheap flights' will result in fewer listings that 'cheap discount flights uk'.

One of the Sedo staff members kindly offered to create search terms for our parking pages and I noticed the search terms he entered were often four words.

Any tips would be welcome :) Thank you.

I might not be understanding this right and I don't use Sedo, but here goes... When I look at the weblogs of various sites I own/manage I see a lot of "long tail" search terms ie: three and four word searches. This is because its harder to compete for the popular really popular two word search terms.

While these get billions of clicks there is also a lot of website competition for them. So I assume you are seeing long tail search phrases as your sites have less competition for those terms. "cheap flights" is a really popular term with a high CPC so I guess everyone is aiming for it.

How does it all work?

Five things to note:-

1) 'cheap discount flights uk' will get results for "cheap flights", "discount flights", "cheap UK flights" etc, so there should be more adverts in the pool.

2) Some advertisers choose not to have their ads displayed on parking or adsense pages. They only show on Goog or selected partner pages.

3) Google supplies many feeds. Ads on one parking service may not appear on another. Searching the same term on a ND page & on a Sedo page may produce different results.

4) Dynamic pricing. Your traffic might influence what ads are shown

5) Only Google really knows how Google works!

Thank you very much.

All your points are valid and I think this one is crux of the matter:

1) 'cheap discount flights uk' will get results for "cheap flights", "discount flights", "cheap UK flights" etc, so there should be more adverts in the pool.
