Hello everyone

My name's Charles and I'm based near Brighton on the South Coast.

I design and manage websites for clients but have been sitting on a handful of domains that I have thought about developing but decided to dip a toe in the water with domain selling and see what the market thinks of them.

My best and worst domains (all of which are available for sale/to rent) are:

Best domains: prohosting.co.uk, webhostingcentral.co.uk
Worst domain: access-all-areas.co.uk

Really impressed with this website/forum. Was previously aware of Sedo, Afternic and TDNAM but until the weekend knew nothing of this site... a nice surprise indeed :D

I look forward to hearing from some of you and maybe doing some business too.

All the best, Charles

Welcome...

Hi Charles and welcome to the AD forums. Might be worthwhile placing a few threads in the domains for sale and domains for let sections to see 'how warm the water is'..!

you have never heard of acorn  ,and you have heard of those inferior websites....admin you must start advertising

Thanks for warm Acorn welcome feKIX, deliajen and doodlebug :-D

Will definitely put a couple of posts up in those sections.

Never really got into trading stocks and shares, but this seems like a whole lot more fun!

I see someone beat you to pro-hosting.co.uk - a better domain

you really aught to get some relevant content on your unused domains - to start aging them in the search engines - not just a "for sale" sign

That's an interesting perspective Stephen.

I was always led to believe that hyphenated domains were worth less not more and looking at some of the recent auction sales that would seem to be borne out, as I don't see a whole lot of them....

search volume, commercial intent, cpc

probably better to get them both

I like hyphenated domains as the keywords stand out when someone is scanning through the search engine results page - search engines can see the keywords easily in multi-keyword domains - but not real people - and its now hard to find decent keyword domains under 4 words

a hyphen is seen as a space by search engines - and "pro hosting" has a higher click value than "prohosting" - but your domain does have more searches - and a better "commercial intent" - i.e. the visitors you lure to your "prohosting" site will actually click adsense ads and clickbank banners - but they won't with "pro-hosting" so swings and roundabouts really
