Wanted: Domain Appraisal HIVvaccine.co.uk

A terrible acquisition (like your other one) unless you really are in the know and have something to add to that area of concern, and that could benefit those that are desperate to find a Cure or Vaccine

think its a bit harsh if them red squares are down to posting this I've seen people posting various cancer domains with no comment.
As the domains are .uk their targeting the uk market then it should be unlikely anybody diagnosed would be desperately seeking a cure and come to this domain for a couple of reasons 1st why would you search vaccine if your looking for cure vaccines are preventative useless once you have something.
2nd if you have just been diagnosed in the uk then you haven't just been given an imminent death sentence people diagnosed in there 20's can expect to live into 60's with treatments available today. Likelihood is this life expectancy will rise given the advances were making in drug design. Your care provider should make this clear to you when diagnosed.

Now as for a domain appraisal like cancer domains I don't see the point in them the NHS or dedicated charity pages often dominate the rankings for such terms with these domains in particular if we ever do develop a vaccine it will be free in the uk so how will you make money from it.

Disgusting

If trying to make £££ out of another's misfortune, or suffering or promoting false hope etc then yes, perhaps it's in bad taste. 'Disgusting' is a bit strong.

Disgusting would be domains that promote child pornography and animal cruelty for instance.

OP - are you developing the Domain and putting useful resources and HIV news, vaccine research up etc?

Whoa little bit of a controversial one this!

Yes newpbc I think there's a bit of double standards going on here, the red square was put on as a result of this thread!

I've noticed these cancer domains too with no reaction like in this post, but to me it's water off a ducks back. If these domains were so sought after you would think that one of the AIDs charities would have already regged them. After all i just hand regged them, no drop catching or any sneaky stuff involved.

My idea is to put up a blog on the domains and maybe get an RSS feed going on from either the science labs or uni's who are currently trying to get this vaccine discovered. I have a couple of friends that are doctors (Not involved with AIDs/HIV but HAVE worked in Africa) But they may be able to point me in the right direction on who to talk to, to get the most relevant information as content. I don't think we will ever be able to monetise these domains but at least they could have some decent info or the latest news.

I disagree with what has been said here. The website can be an information website about the progress of HIV meds and the look for a cure. The website can also promote current medications in advertisements. Pharma is making money out of the drugs so guiding people to those drugs that they need is not disgusting or bad

Well put. It purely depends on what the domain is used for. As ferpuerto17 says, if you use it to discuss vaccine developments then I don't see any problem and it could even become a useful resource. Even better let's see an actual effective vaccine hit the market so that millions of lives are saved and you can make yourself a nice fifty grand!

On the other hand if you used the domain to create a site that in any way gave misinformation or manipulated HIV sufferers into buying something that gave them false hope then there is only one place for you in the afterlife! This place wouldn't have a temperate climate or contain foods such as steak, pizza or swordfish.

Good luck!
