Hi,

I had posted a thread on the Sedo forum ( http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/sedo/26605-kicking-someone-when-they-down-bravo-sedo.html ) but I think I may get better answers here for what I'm looking for - a realistic purchase price for it.

The domain name is : crazymeds.org

It was quite good in ranking for 3 years before owner accidentally let it expire and Domcollect caught it.

I placed a bid on it, I got a counter-offer of 12,000 Euro (I am in US, I offered $600 before that counter-offer)

I do have some numbers from domaintools, they are:

Alexa Trend/Rank: #384,036 ( down 180,144 ranks in last 3 months.)
Compete Rank: #23,765 with 75,091 U.S. visitors per month
Quantcast Ranking: #17,889
Wikipedia: Listed on 10 pages

What do you think? It was a community service site, it's really affecting a lot of people by not having that resource. (It wasn't my domain, but I'd like buy it back and return it to the previous owner, for the sake of the community)

Looking purely at the domain itself, I'd value it at reg fee.

However, but taking traffic/revenue into account, on that thread you said that they said they are making $150 a day. If this is true, simple calculation gives:

$150 is approx €100

€12000 / €100 = 120 days which is about 4 month revenue.

Based on that, that would be a very good deal, however, just because they say thats what they make doesn't mean they do!

Might be worth posing as another buyer and trying to obtain stats. If there willing to sell on a % of rev then they should be more then happy to supply stats to back it up.

They CLAIM they're making $150 a day.

That's what I want to know. From your experiences, and the available data, and clickthrough rates that you normally factor in, how bloated is that? If it made $150 a day, I wouldn't sell it for $15K, I'll make that and more within 4 months.

Quick look on Google and Alexa seems it was a pretty big site at one point!
