Halloween

I am ordering 5000 A6 leaflets for my scarycostume.co.uk site, I plan to wear a Halloween costume and hand out leaflets in the city centre but when do you think it would be acceptable and effective to do this ?

I am going to need about 10 days to hand them out I reckon = 500 per day

01st October, 10th October ? remember people will only order upto about 25th October.

Great idea!

I noticed last few years that Tesco and other big stores have a pretty massive halloween range. Why not keep tabs of when they start gearing up and start your marketing shortly afterwards?

Any scope for you to get featured in the local papers, radio etc. Sounds like the sort of publicity stunt they would be interested in.

AFAIK there's an old law which says you can give out media without permission but I will double check with my local council.

I am only paying £45 inclusive for 5000 A6 single sided coloured leaflets so it should pay off.

Oh Mr Dog > I just found out that since 2006 you now need a licence at £75 per year but also found that they can't really stop you without a licence due to some human rights act 1998 so I am going to use that on them and when they get the police to move me, I will tell the local papers that the council are abusing my human rights and ofcourse get some free publicity for my site

Anyway instead of 5000 full colour A6 I have gone for 5000 single colour A5 for £8 cheaper

Good job on having the ability to do that... I would get tired of walking up to people for them to turn me down.

I bin every leaflet like that I get I think... :/

It should work, users can see the categories and scan the products.

For the sake of less than £40 for the site and leaflets I will just see what happens ?

Do you know how to use wordpress? if so have a look on elegantthemes//dot//com and see if there are any themes you like, if you see one you like let me know and i will download it for you and fire it over via email.

I was in the local shopping centre yesterday and I saw one of these boards that you stick your head through and have your photo taken. The front of the board had a painting on plus a big web address.

A halloween version would be great, kids stick their heads through, mums would take a photo of their kids with the web address and then perhaps post it onto social networking sites.

A great way to get people to advertise your web address.

I realise it's a lot more work than handing out leaflets but you never know, perhaps next year.

That would be a great idea, like a Ghost and a Pumpkin or something, I see what you mean about photo's being posted onto the net but the URL would have to be quite clear as the one on the board you shown doesn't even show the URL so in this case the marketing failed.

yeah it's not the board I saw.

I did think it was a rather clever idea tho.

Parents could take their own pics using their phones so it didn't cost them anything.

And you get some free publicity when they show the pics to their friends.

The web address was very prominent yes.

Defo keep updated, near 31st October I will post to say how many sales, thing is scarycostume.co.uk I am using might get ranked for its term which gets about 5k UK searches in October so won't know exactly how many sales through leaflets ? ashame I can't do a discount code like A5L or something.

You could a leaflet drop locally for your paintball site, wonder what sales you would get from that ?

I see guys with a camoflage net and stuff in town centres and they can't give the leaflets away for some reason ?

I know it's not a great design but to save on artwork cost I done this, the guy is printing me 5000 A5 leaflets for only £37 including courier delivery

A good price but you get what you pay for.

Where does it tell me that you supply adults and children?
Do you deliver?
What makes you different?
Is there a telephone number for details?

There are lots of small points missing fromm your flyer here, I think a little more information should have been provided tbh.

Good points about childen and adults, didn't think about delivery, the only phone number would be for the merchant and I would lose sales then
