Sedo's most wanted list, 80% of the top 50 most viewed names are .info's
what a load of rubbish that chart is!

If i was a cynical bugger i would say they are all owned by the same person!

top domains

Since when did anyone pay attention to list...thought it was for newbee's..z

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh

OOH How Dare You Zee! Newbie indeed, I remember seeing your name in the crappy Sedo forum year's ago, you completely slagged one of my names:mad:

I went on it to see if there were any .eu's on the list, and just felt compelled to post about what a joke it is.

Why do they bother with it, it's makes a mockery of there services?

newbees

so sorry, no reference ment to insult KNOLEDGABLE self , accept abject appologises...z

D

Considering the millions of names in sedo, I find the 'top domains' listing somewhat strange, esp. when you begin to look at the prime names that aren't in...

Guess I must be missing something...

maybe what your missing is being used to build up the domain listing, look up owners/time held....mmmmm

ps what happened to domain??, was I right???

Apologies, meant t add;

Sedo reply:

Domains should definitely be parked to be on the list. However, with so many great domains (ahem) on the list, often someone will develop one and it will no longer be parked.

I should also mention that the folks who choose the domains can be very particular and, especially as of late, mainly one word generics have made the list. However, as you can see, a two word domain can make the list if it strikes them.

IMO - 'If it strikes them' - Surely not a solid basis for top list inclusion????

If I were a business seeking a name I would ultimately want customers through my door - TRAFFIC!!!!

Maybe the whole process needs to be re-evaluated....

Hi Guys,

Glad to see that you are discussing our different lists. The above is a post that I issued is about the top domains list. We do place domains on the list that have high traffic, but the first and best criteria for the top domains list is one word .com/.co.uk generic domains on the English language sites. So in actuality, we are placing names that strike our fancy, or they are suggested to us by the owners or other people who have seen them.

We have also seperate lists for high traffic and most wanted domains. Neither of these lists are comprised of domains owned by only one of our clients. These lists are based purely on stats--most unique views per month and most bids on the domain per month, respectively.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks,

Jakob

Not trying to take the p**s or anything but i find it really hard to believe that, new entry - no6 in your highest traffic list with 9269 hits per DAY! is the name g6of.com It Means Nothing!, this is meant to be type in traffic stat's, i typed this into a google search and it came back with 154 results, all of them irrelevant to anything!......So why would over 9000 people a day type this into their address bar?

Either your stat's are being seriously manipulated or you criterea for being on that list is not what it seems.

Hi,

Sorry if I missed it, but which exactly is the name in question?

We are always working to ensure that each domain listed has legitimate statistics. If you all see something that appears fishy, then please, tell us about it so that we can investigate. We have people reviewing these lists daily, but any help from you is much appreciated. If nothing else, we can at least explain why the domain has the traffic that it does.

Thanks again,

Jakob

The name in question was highlighted in my post g6of.com seems to have disapeared from the high traffic list? funny that, one day it was getting over 9000 type in's per day, now it doesn't even get in the top 50?

Maybe you removed it?

Hi,

It is quite possible that the domain was removed. As I said, we are always making strides to ensure that the list only contains domains that have legitimate traffic. As I do not manage this list, I would assume that this domain was removed from the list by an employee. However, this is just the sort of control that we have in place to make sure that this list is reliable for you. Let us know if you have any questions!

All the best,

Jakob
