Why the transfer fee? There is nothing to stop you trying for domains in other people's names directly that I know of.

Ok say I want a domain, pass the name over to you (or anyone else for that matter) what if you take a fancy to it and reg it for yourself and say tough luck pal nice domain thank you very much?

Or is it all on trust?

I want one that expires tom and need it caught in a few months once it drops.

Exactly what I was just thinking TBH... :???:

I think the prices are reasonable (if not as good as some others) though.

Needs to be easier to order (e.g. online site, available drop lists, no messing about with PMs, etc).

We can catch in your name if required, automated interface is not complete yet, so will need an email / PM for the moment.

Indeed it is based on trust. What you could do is send me a PM requesting a domain to be caught. I will then PM you what i have on my list and if yours is not there i will add it.

I am currently looking into developing a booking system, for this minute its not high priority on my list.

Trust is the key, if you can't trust your supplier, then you have issues whether this supplier is catching domain, providing hosting or any other service you depend on.

I would also imagine that anyone who repeatedly got a "sorry we've already got this booked" response from a catching service and then saw the names caught by the owner would be posting here with a negative review.

I've had occasions where a customer has wanted a name I've already had in my list and actually chosen to offer it to the customer rather than catch for myself.

My suggestion would be to PM Gold Frog (or any other "new" service) your names and make your decision based on the service he offers. Trust has to be earned, however any business would be well aware of the need to earn trust, so unlikely to want bad publicity.

Mat, Drop catching for the public isnt the main focus of mine. I was posting this service to help bring extra funds in for myself. I need to catch drops for myself to earn money. I said to you in PM you could book the name with me now for £100.00 and no matter if i wanted the name or not it was booked to you. Once i have had a look at drops and there domains i dont want i would be more than willing to take orders for £30.00

Given that the 1st post in this thread says £30 for a domain, then I can see Mat's point of view, perhaps you should qualify the offer and timescales for placing orders?
