hi,

done one page of a site i'm working on, had some trouble with it yesterday and some of the users in here help me out. ( thanks again! )

just wanted to know what you thought of this first page, overall look, font, images, adsense set up etc.

Thought it would save me time sorting those things out first page instead of editing all finished pages.

if you'll have a look and give me some feedback I would be gratful,

cheers

It could be my eyes but its seems blury.. ie links images text etc white on yellow perhaps not a good contract, using different text and links ie white black, yellow blue?

Your logo doesn't stand out or isnt crisp

I would say the yellow is a no-no.
Also you can't see the text where the yellow arrow is on the background.

hi,

Im a bit confused the site is set out with an orange scheme, not yellow.
i check on a two different pcs and two different laptops than the one i designed it on, and i dont see the yellow.

I also have noticed that some images are not that crisp, but this also changes depending on pc or laptop being used.

does everyone see yellow?
can i ask you to leave you browser spec in this thread.
how can i sort the image qualiy problem?

cheers

It looks yellowy orange to me, on bother IE6 and Firefox, a very light orange.

The images look a little blury but not too bad.

Basic format of page is Good

I agree that colour looks more yellow than orange and the white lettering is struggling to be seen. Perhaps blue lettering might do the trick.

Google Adwords look a bit lost - it might be the white lettering on yellow or perhaps its the position.

one think i'd ask is because your domain is a dot com isn;t a majority of your customers going to be US/worldwide rather than UK based? should the content on a dot com be geared towards this?
I know a lot of americans will be looking for a cheap florida holiday as well

thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it.

i'm not to sure how i can intergrate the adsense into to site better. will work on other changes though.

( charlie seems to me you have been domaining a longer time than i have, and you make a good point, but it never crossed my mind , that a .com would bring the majority customers from the us/worldwide to the site. thank you for raising the point)

thank you all

yellow on white and yellow on orange are not good contrast colours. text needs a suitable range contrast across the colour spectrum to be readable, otherwise it look blurry at best, and at worst it can shake... try blue on red if you don't know what I mean.

cheers texidriver...........

no other pages are set up properly yet i just wanted to put content on net soon as really to allow for indexing while was working on other things.

never noticed that "YOU TIPS" though, cheers

I'd echo the comments above about colour choice...

Some of the formatting doesn't work properly on my browser (although probably not a huge issue as I use Opera, which most people won't be using). For example on the car hire, some of the text overlaps each other and the top line is sitting through the orange splitter. For some bizarre reason, I can also move the top text around when I use Opera  However, the picture quality is better for me in Opera than in IE6

I think you need to be consistent across the pages - for example the navigation across the bottom changes between pages (eg between index.htm and hotels.htm) - but this may be because you said you haven't fully finished the whole site yet :)

Oh, and on hotels2.htm, I think you need to change a word in your second to last sentence as it doesn't make sense otherwise ;)

Other that that, I think it's a nice site and definitely a great starting point :)

cheers clem,

thanks for the comments. like i said only did a basic layout when i sorted the content, as wanted to get indexed soon as.

working on changes. then the backlinks, seo. ( what a life!!!! )

cheers for all comments
