A tad rubbish... the reporter must be his missus.

£8k top sale... 'glady spending into the thousands' total porfolio worth a million.... million lira maybe :)

Odd article!

I think articles like this cropping up in the FT will precipitate the "main wave" of uplift in the .co.uk market. It's articles such as this one which will grab the attention of traditional equity investors. When the market started it was mainly geeks buying domain names, at some point traditional equity investors get in on the act.

for the perspective of idividuals within the "domain circle" yeah it is a load of bolux.

On the flip side, the amount of people I know that just haven't a clue what a domain is and the difference between a website and a domain name is frightening. Equally, there is a number who are astounded that domains have any value at all, when they hear they have value they want to get involved....

I would deffinately welcome wider coverage than the FT

interesting article....

I agree with rob a million pounds lol

they listed all his best domains in the article except marineinsurance, publicspeaking, phonebanking, businesscoaching and maybe tradedirectory

All the others are of little or no value IMHO, for someone who was in it from the start it's a pi** poor portfolio

I think that positive pr for domains as a serious investment "stock" is all good.

Big figure - shock - prices won't impress the investors so I think this is targeted around the right level.

If all our missuses did articles like that we'd all be better off!

I remember buying then and I was paying about ~£80 per annum each.

if he started doing this 10 years ago and spent 10k

He estimates he has so far spent under £10,000 on his domain name portfolio, including registration and annual renewal fees. He currently owns around 100 names and sells a few each year via sedo.com

hows he only got 100 names?

obviously aint got the bug
:)

cupid.co.uk aint a bad name - someone must know who had this one?
