FREE 0844 number ?

just got an email for a FREE 0844 number?

whats the deal, why are they free.

can anyone shed any light to are they worth getting etc downfalls and benefits

Is it free as in "no charge to call" or free as in "you can have this number for free but we'll collect the x pence per minute thankyou."

They're probably offering you it for free so they can generate call share revenue, free to you at point of use, but they get a % of every call you recieve on it.

These number ranges are often excluded from "free minutes" in most call plans, so you may find more people would call the local number rather than the 0844 number if given both.

Branding used to be the big thing, however all the good numbers went quickly in most number ranges

I use a free 0845 number and get monthly invoices from the company but I have not earned a penny from it. Looks good on leterheads, websites etc though.

There are stacks available for free online, they make there money from the revenue share.
