Hi,

We recently registered ferrari.org.uk. I was hoping for some feedback on the domain, which has quite high local searches of over 90,000 per month.

Thanks

Best to drop it as a certain company well known for making red cars that go a bit have a history of getting very upset when somebody puts their trademark in a domain.

Rgds

I had a letter in the post once re one of my earliest sites from Italy, an Italian lawyer - their client was the company making red cars, and domain contained the brand name. I gave them the site and domain :)
Can confirm they are/were quite proactive - is the only TM I've regged - glad it wasn't a costly exercise & site had small earnings.

Ferrari is also a surname though, so conceivably someone such as Nick Ferrari the radio presenter could use it as his homepage for example without infringing any copyright? Unlikely I know, but I'm just interested whether this would be the case.

Putting the car company aside it is just a surname and not a popular one in the UK so combine that with the fact that it's on .org.uk I would say it's not worth the reg fee.

Indeed, and used with NO commercial linkage (whatsoever) to the car manufacturer. Or its secondary product markets. Should see you safe

Me thinks thats not what the registrant had in mind.
