The phrase: "internet directory WhoIs" grated with me; a "whois lookup" would have been accurate.
I looked up this "Claudine Beaumont" the author of the article and quickly got my explanation for her ineptness she moved to the technology role from a position of: "gardening commissioning editor"!!! (http://www.buffalo.co.uk/site/documents/28Sep07.doc)
It's not just her article that shows technical ineptness, her blog today also contains two broken links:
Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible
Why does the national media have such appalling quality coverage of technology / internet issues, it almost appears as if people like this, and those who employ them are proud of their ignorance?
It's not just this girl - there's Benjamin Cohen on Channel Four, and Nigel Powell in the Sunday Times I can't understand why in this area such sloppiness is tolerated.
"A quick Google search for "Faceless people" pulls up a website called "True Character", and a link to the address True Character. According to internet directory WhoIs, that domain name is owned by Group Lotus Plc."
