what type's of exercise do you do to keep fit / stay in shape?

I do

gym
skiing
long distance running
climbing
swimming
cycling
mountain boarding


what do u guys do ?

Typing, and quite a bit of mousing back and forth.
 
Until I got ill I did a fair bit of cycling to keep fit, often riding around 400 or so miles per week a lot of the time, but I've not been on my bike for a long time now.

I meant to try going out on it recently, so I went on my indoor bike first to get back in the groove and get the lungs working, but my breathing is still messed up, I hyperventilate just sitting here at the computer, completely fine one minute, and then suddenly I can't breath properly, it's really pissing me off, 16 months it's been like this now :mad:

Being off the bike for all this time, I've put around 2.5 stone in weight on :(

I now drink pints instead of shorts as the glass weighs more when full and empty so double work out there, Use the land line phone to order takeaways as it weighs more than my mobile, Always super size any meal it can be quite tiring picking up those large burgers and king size fries but know its worth the effort, I now longer buy small bars of chocolate as they do the big 1 kilo bars putting them in the cupboard is like running a mile, Finally smoke small cigars more regularly I did try the large cigar work out but found as you were putting your hand to your mouth less... If you smoke smaller ones more frequently you get a better cardio work out…. I was worried about my weight and went to the doctor he said I would be the perfect weight if I was 5 ft taller which was a bit of a relief ( allthough I did not know i had dwarfism) I know now all I have to do is grow too 11ft tall and I,m the perfect size..

I play 5 a side several times a week in my lunch break at work, an once a week in a league on Thursday evenings and I go jogging now and then.
 
Rowing machine - works cardio and muscles.

Pressups - good for getting rid of the man boobs

Ab crunches - with weights to keep them lean


...not done any for a while as been too busy but that's what I stick too!
 
Systreg I completely feel for you mate, I used to do 3 martial arts and f**king loved it, I used to be super fit with a six pack and now I can't exercise and have a bit of a pot belly :(

I used to do 500 sit ups and press ups a day but now if I pick up a skipping rope and do just 5 rotations my heart feels like it's trying to rip itself out of my rib cage, I developed an irregular heart beat.

It seriuosly makes me depressed, I hate not being physically active and I now don't have much enthusiasm to do everyday task ( I have to kick myself up the ass )

Maybe one day Kev you will be back on your bike and I will be back in the dojo, I really miss my martial arts and the annoying thing is because it's been so long I would have to start my gradings all over again.

Exercise now = none, I am going to get a bike though and give it a try, I live near some nice places so it's encouraging :)

How about an Acorn trip to a health farm or a massage parlour ;)

Just had a medical this morning for a new insurance policy. Everything ok except for being about 25kg overweight....going to the gym now, and going off the advice above, might have a wank first!
 
Mate i have the same thing.

I had lots of checks done and they put me on Beta Blockers Atenolol my heart is alot better now, used to scare the crap out of me

Karl, I just applied for a TV show asking if you have undiagnosed condition which the doctors can't seem to put their finger on ?

If accepted then they pay for me to have expert help in return I allow them to film it, got to be worht a punt.

Every cloud as a Silver lining, I now spend a lot of time on tinternet and looks like things are slowly picking up for me in terms of earnings :cool:

Yea they never really diagnosed what i had, Now im stuck on Beta Blockers.

Mine would rush really fast for no reason even when i was sat down.
For some reason it would always be fast in the shower too.
