For some time now, cloud computing has been touted as the next big thing in terms of how businesses manage their IT. It represents a shift from the previous major trends for business computing with local ‘servers’ providing resources and applications works to a model which uses the internet as a platform.
Figures out today from the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) even go so far as to say that widespread adoption could give the top five EU economies a €763bn boost over the next five years.
