yeah obviously i realise that (its test ) thanks anyway - thats not what I was really on about - im trying to keep away froma registration/login thing but can see its prob going to end up that way..

(btw - domain searches are NOT stored in db anymore so people can be anonymous)

I think you need to store the results in a Database and call them like cert.php?domain=orr.co.uk otherwise whats stopping me going...

Where as if your store them in a db with sql injection protection then it can't happen :)

# ORR.co.uk
# Domain Estimated (wholesale/reseller) Value: £1,500/£1,750

You er, buying at these prices :)

I'm not sure putting them into a DB takes away anominity unless you require registration as you said.

Store "orr.co.uk, 80.85, £25,000/£17,500+, £54,500/£57,500+", there is nothing to identify anyone.

Maybe nice of your centred it, I never like sites that are to the left.

problem is if ppl have to reg to get appraisal then still nothings stopping them from inflating the domain value anyway if they want to - unless I associate the user with the appraisal?

Why not just use the domain as your unique key, and have your appraisal algorithm insert the data directly to the database, then its called back using a single argument "cert.php?dom=domain.co.uk", and pulled directly from the db. There would be no point at which the user could tamper with the data to inflate it.

The only data your DB would have is Domain, Value1, Value2, Value3, Date_Added.

Sorry poo explanation :)

hi,

have put that in place now, but user can still inflate :( - unless of course I put comapny / registrant name used on sign up and compare with whois etc

i like domtastic, showing appraisals as certificates is a nice little touch.
just wondering how accurate it is though?
what prices do you get back for "BenchTools.co.uk"?
