yes i know they are affiliated with sed, but the questions they want to know before buying domains i find personnal and just wondering if this is the norm now?

What sort of things were they asking you Paul?

What sort of things were they asking you Paul?

How many domains i sell per year and how much for.
what total revenue my domains earn.
They want to test domains for a month.

If this is the norm now then fine, just i have sold may domains and some at big prices and never been asked these questions before. I mean come on i sold recycle and doug didnt ask can he test the domain for a month :).

If this is the case then anyone buying a domain from sedo (who domcollect are) can we test the domains before buying?

It might be me but i find the above a very strange approach......

I let them test a portfolio for a month, after which they didn't buy but they reimbursed me for my previous months Namedrive earnings. Pain in the arse, but they were friendly enough.

The top 2 they should not of been asking seems a bit much :)

I have not dealt with them personally, but i have heard they will not buy without letting them test the domains - nothing to lose in my opinion.

Just have to change the namservers and they will reimburse the parking profits.

no they want to know how many domains ive sold, for how much, how much revenue they have earned and so on. which isnt acceptable in my eyes. ive given a price they shold counter or say no. they shouldnt ask for so much info, and the feedback ive heard from other domainers today i would recomend anyone who is dealing with them to do some reasearch first.

as with any negotiation, the more info you have the better. so they are trying it on. No doubt if the answers you provide favours them they will use this in the negotiations ie "I see you have previously sold at x times multiple how can you justify y now"

a desperate/novice seller may well give them this info which is why they ask, a more seasoned seller would imo tell them to take a hike :)

That's a fair shout, i was mainly commenting on the "testing" they asked to do.

What you have sold and how much for, they are just data mining domainers in my view, send them to domainprices.co.uk :)

If they doubt you as a person send them to AD where you have been a mod since conception, I will give you a personal reference, for what that's worth.

I wouldn't bother with a 1 month trial of the domain unless it's a price you are unlikely to get otherwise.

Ask them how many (UK) domains they have purchased and for what prices......

ive asked them that admin :)

basically now they are offering me £66 per .co.uk domain name for 150 so £10k for 150 .co.uk domains :) now if that isnt taking the piss i dont know what is.....
