You may or may not agree but I just looked at the domain wanted section and see people posting FTR domains on there, I think this can hinder potential sales and is not needed.

Comments please

I think its very good of people to post free to reg domains, ok it may be a pain if someone decides to reg them instead of the one you are trying to sell them, but still a good practice for a forum and its members in my opinion.

If they are serious buyers they will want the best domain, so great if a ftr one is better than the offerings, result, but as serious buyers, if they have a serious offering, they wont let it go.

If they are looking to spend a tenner, yeah they may get the ftr ones also, as they couldnt possibly afford most of the offerings, no matter how much £xxx they say they have to spend. So no sale would have happened anyway etc

That's quite a good point I guess

If there's a nice FTR one that fits the description - post it up. That's what helps to make this a community.

I know I suppose it is a forum and not an auction site.

I need to stop complaining, I'm getting like an old man and I'm only 31.

I'm going to shut up making my opinions and just chill :cool::cool::cool:

31? I can't remember back that far!

Keep posting your opinions - it was a good point you raised. You have kicked off some really good threads here with your opening posts, eg, "I Give Up" just the other day - a superb thread without a doubt.

gratefully, Luke

A lot of Wanted posts seem to be along the lines of "My client is looking for X. They have up to 50 pounds to spend." at which point a FTR is probably the best answer, because there's no hope of them getting something business-changing for their laughably unrealistic budget.

Aside: if you are going to have CLIENTS, you need to educate them better ;)

Offering FTR ideas is always in the community spirit here. Kudos to those that do it.

Guilty as charged! It was just a domain that I'd coincidentally come across that seemed suitable.

Didn't think about the "hindering someone else's sales" factor - thought i was just being helpful. Maybe i'll be more circumspect in future!
