Looking forward to seeing the results :)

Having spoke to Harvey last year he has big plans and this should do well at increasing interest in premium domain leasing/sales.

they have quite a few domains up for lease, accidents.co.uk @ 5k a month for example.

will lease accidents.org.uk for £500 a month if anyones interested lol

waiting for Frank to jump in now..

Saw this, impressive considering 10yeti's client list. Hopefully will raise the profile of domains to more business'

self appointing oneself as a 'serial entrepreneur' seems to be a common disease these days lol

STJ seems to have more right to the title than many others who claim it, mind you...

maybe
but as Alan Sugar said noone should call themselves even an entrepreneur, that is for others to call you, if applicable
serial entrepreneur is just too much lol
and self appointed, well...............

nothing wrong with a bit of trumpet blowing... we dont do enough of it in this country!

bit nicer when you can get someone to blow it for you tho... uh oh:rolleyes:

i was on there other day hmmming at a few of his domains...

Don't mind people referring to themselves as an entrepreneur when they are successful, however the word gets devalued when people refer to themselves as one without good reason (e.g. have thrown up a few websites and think they are a serial entrepreneur straight away).

Personally I wouldn't refer to myself as one, would rather be branded as one by someone else.

you're in the right place at Acorn, Ashton :D
you're amongst kindred spirits :D

I'm sure you're familiar with one of Sir.Winston's famous one liners?
"Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm."

lol

How much do you reckon they're renting seo.co.uk out for?

Could of course be higher/lower than this figure depending on what has been negotiated, but the website currently states £5000+

Mm, I looked on their a-z list and its not even listed. I doubt that domain is renting for anywhere even close to £5k a month, I'm sure it'll be less. Curious though as the person renting it now has a few exact matches in that niche.

Thats the scary thing from renting out - the guy renting seo.co.uk has already had searchengineoptimisation.com penalised. Sickener if he gets one penalised that you were renting him.

I guessed the domain ID number for 'seo.co.uk' from mousing over 'see.co.uk' and 'services.co.uk' then trying out the gaps. Think there are quite a few more domains which aren't in the main list.

Fair point about penalisation, my guess would be that a lot of money has been spent on legal fees to cover this? The thought of it does slightly put me off leasing out any of my domains though :-?

I don't think leasing will fly. I'm certainly not going to build a business around a domain that could be leased to another party when the contract expires. Oh your competitor came in with twice the amount, so we went with them.

It may be viable as traffic redirection (type-in traffic) or building satellite mini-sites for lead generation, but I wouldn't build a business around a leased domain, I would have to own it.

Shame they aren't putting as much effort into it as a true .uk only marketplace, sales, lease and auctions.

Nice domain and site.

Just realised seo.co.uk are used as a case study on their homepage, didn't see that earlier. Not sure why they'd use them as a case study, then leave the domain showing as for rent.

How can you legally cover getting a domain penalised though? As its Googles index, they could just decide they no longer want it in there for whatever reason, and its gone. Or it could get penalised for something a previous renter done, but the penalty not coming into action till you had control over it. There are loads of other circumstances where a penalty could come into play and it really wasn't the fault of the person renting.

I don't think that is the big issue though - I think the big one there is the renter just going crazy with the seo, as he has very little to lose. Do everything spammy you can, if it ranks thats great. If it doesn't, no big deal - wasn't your domain anyway.

If he blows it, he can hand the domain back. Reminds me of the time I crashed a car while on a test drive - funnily enough, I never bought it :D
