Domainmonster backorder - domain available

Hi Guys,

New to this - I had my eye on a few domains that were dropping today so I backordered them on DM yesterday. However when I checked just now 3 of the 4 were available. So I regged them at another registrar.

Only thing I can think of is that you need to backorder 24hrs + prior to the drop day? However the system seemed to allow me to place them OK

The same thing has happened to me before too, so I would assume domains do need booking in at least the day before (although I'm sure I read somewhere that the same day is fine – might need looking in to by the DM team).

On the positive side, you've saved £xxx thanks to the error. :)

Yeah that's true - I'm new to UK drops so obviously these 3 were needless backorders anyway.

On a related note - anyone got a list of all dropped domains over the last few weeks? As these domains weren't competitive, perhaps my quality threshold for regging is lower than most so there might be some scraps for me to pick up ;)

Same thing also happened to me and I rang them up and got put thought to the back order team.

I was advised that it should be ok to add them on the day of the drop, but sometimes it can take a little longer.

I was advised to send in an email, to be sure the domains were pushed through at their support team would check they were added.

All in all great support and a very very helpful munch, first time I had spoken to them and was very impress by their helpfulness and knowledge.

From what I was told, it gets added straight away... but on the odd occasion it can take a little longer.

So bottom line was add it the day before to be super safe, or add it on the day I was told by the back order team there “if it’s important domain to you and you add it on the day and want to be 100% sure drop us a line”.

I have had a few nice catches from them, when I have added the domains on the day also.
