Hello there, i was wondering if there was anyone out there who could help me find a Domain Name Sale Agreement for .com and .co.uk domains, what are the legal differences between the two?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mike :)

If I am selling a domain to another person in the UK, I just draw up a contract of sale outlining the terms and conditions of the sale, and ask the buyer to sign to agree to these terms and conditions.

There may be differences if a US party is involved, as then US law would come into play I guess.

It shouldn't. If you're selling, you want the law that applies to be the law in your jurisdiction. If there's a problem, you want to sue them locally rather than travel to the US (either directly or through a legal proxy) to sue them on "home turf")

Something like "The above Terms shall be governed by English law. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England to resolve any legal matter arising from these Terms." should do the trick. (remember, I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV)

Useful to know, thanks. I have never done any formal legal study, and it's an area where I would like to improve my understanding. A trip to my local library might be in order.
