Domain Name Portfolio Estimated at One Million Dollars to be Sold
San Jose, California - (via THE HOSTING NEWS) - August 10, 2005 - Excite@Home's entire Internet domain name portfolio is slated to be sold by The At Home Liquidating Trust, the successor to now-defunct Excite@Home. The portfolio consists of several valuable names, including the domain name shoppingcart.com which was sold to ecommerce company MonsterCommerce for $285,000.
At Home Liquidating Trust is the successor company to At Home Corporation dba Excite@Home, which filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2001 and was subsequently dissolved. Historically, At Home Corporation was a provider of residential Internet access services to businesses and consumers. At Home provided high speed internet access to approximately 4 million households.
The Moniker.com web site has been named the exclusive agent for all Excite@Home domain name sales. Monte Cahn, CEO of Moniker.com, estimates that the value of the available domain names in the portfolio is in excess of a million dollars.
''There are several valuable domain names in the portfolio. Short Names like stuff.com and home.net will be highly prized assets in the sale.''
Moniker.com was responsible for the first million dollar internet domain name sale - wallstreet.com and the first two million dollar sale - autos.com.
