Hi Guys,

New to the forum and domain buying/selling... I have a couple of domains that I bought because I thought they might be worth something.

I'm looking into either monetising these or selling them on, but not sure where to start, hopefully this is a good place?

What name endings are most valuable?

e.g.
.co.uk
.com
.co
.org.uk
.eu
.tv

If I find a domain I like, which of these are the most important to scoop up?

So far, I have just stuck to .co.uk & .com.

Thanks!

Welcome to Acorn Domains, hugefoot. :)

Hope you enjoy visiting, there is a huge amount of information and knowledge here.

What domain names do you currently own? :D

In terms of value...

.com
.co.uk
.org.uk
.tv
.eu
.co

In terms of popularity...
.co.uk
.com
.org.uk
.tv
.eu
.co

Personally, as an investment, I wouldn't touch the bottom three extensions.

Added: there's not much in it in regards to .tv, .eu, .co – would depend on target audience, extension fit, nature of business etc.

I own a few, but as I say, there are still other endings available out there, so I would rather hang on with the names until I know which ones will be worth something.. hope that makes sense?!

What is the best way of valuing a domain name?

Also, I have just used the exacts tool on google adwords and I get 40500 exacts for a .co.uk on one domain.

And 900 on another and 250 on another - are these good stats for a valuable domain?

I have just used estibot and valuate to value one of my domains, how realistic are these?

The .com of one of mine is valued at >$150,000, I own the .co.uk though, am I likely to get anything close?

haha, sounds good, I genuinely believe my domain may have some value though, what's the best way of finding that?

I'm not expecting to instantly turn a profit, more to judge whether or not I should sell on or keep and try monetise or something?
