Hi All,

I thought this may be a worthy conversation topic....

Like many, I have been buying domains for the last two years in the hope if selling them on for a modest profit or better than than that renting/leasing the domains out for a regular monthly fee...

My success of out of approx 30 domains is only 2 rentals at less than £10p/m and a whole load of offers that have fallen through.

My question is: Have others been able to make a better sucess of it? What have you done to get your domain in front of quality clients?

I think we all know about parking, sedo etc...

I think a discussion about innovative ideas will hopefully be of help to all of us who spend time on this forum.

Let the ideas begin...

For a starter I have:

Created domain specific holding pages - no adverts
Sent emails to companies (who already have existing names)

My question is: Have others been able to make a better sucess of it?

Yes they have, but they all had to start to start somewhere too.

Regarding the leasing, then Scott has shared some successes on his Self Made Minds blog.

Regarding selling, I would say if you can learn how to develop your site into real websites, it helps to get the attention of potential buyers and convince them of the domain's worth.

Rgds

That makes sense, accelerator, but I've been wondering if that would enhance or diminish a brandable name. Would someone want a name that has already been used for, say, a hair site if they want it for some other purpose entirely?

Why not develop them yourself and seo them to generate revenue?
