Hi all,

I'm not what I would call a "domainer", but I do dabble from time to time and I have 50+ domains, and buy new ones when I see ones I want.

Currently all of my domains are with Monster, but I have read about few people having problems with them recently, and I had them contact me telling me I had sent SPAM when all I had done was send emails to one of my opt in mailing lists, and I had sent them from my own dedicated server, I was not impressed.

I have used 1and1, but they are a nightmare at times.

Who in your opinion is the best domain hosting/management service, with low cost domain registration, free transfers and preferably a good affiliate scheme?

I've looked at UKreg, but had bad experiences with fasthosts, who seem to own UKreg.

For .co.uk I use Heart Internet. My understanding is that the company was started by the people previously behind 123reg, after they sold 123reg.

I guess I started using them because their prices are low for domains. I experienced some early glitches with their system relating to .eu registration, where it showed I had regged a domain when in fact I hadn't. However, subsequent to this I haven't had any further problems, and they've polished their interface a bit. Customer service has been fine when I've contacted them.

Overall, I'm happy with the service.

Rgds

Avoid ukreg, their control panel was 'upgraded' recently (possibly merged with the fasthosts control panel) and it's been a complete disaster.

I am a heart reseller, and my dedicated server is with heart, but I don't much like their domain management service because it is complicated, you have domains you own, domain references, and domains belonging to clients all in the same control panel. Although it's not too hard to manage domains, I find simple tasks take a lot longer.

I use ukreg and I've never had any probs, got over 600 domains with them

You've not had any problems since the upgrade a couple of months ago? Following that a load of my domains had the registration address details changed to various random companies (including the admin email address!!). I also pushed a few domains over to a buyer a couple of weeks ago and it all went completely tits up.

Thanks all, I may try moving all my domains over to my Heart Internet account and just try getting used to it a bit more.

Do any of you use Domain monster? If so, have you had any problems?
