OK,we all have a good idea of what domains are worth now and we all know the likes of .biz .info and .whatever ICANN relases are worthless ?

Do you think in 10 years time a £5000 ( now ) domain name will be worth a lot more ? obviously markets change products/services

I personally think it's quite early days, these companies should be battling it out for keywords, they just don't get it

It's like having a banner made for the front of your shop and not paying for letters which say what you sell.

Anyway i think the future is good, the internet's going to be around for the rest of our lives,i am 30 years old by the way.

Opinions please, will we be on Acorn in 5 to 10 years from now ?

good question and I would be interested to hear others views on this

I am also 30 years old and the internet will be here for a long long time.

I think the likes of .com / .co.uk will increase greatly in value (with the .org.uk rising in value due to .co.uk being totally out of reach)

It is all about supply and demand I suppose, and I think within the next 5 years companies will start to become more internet savvy as the younger generation will be rising in the ranks in bigger companies and there is a good chance that the younger generation is alot more switched on with the likes of importance of web precense.

If the importnance of generic domains can be promoted and then also realised by those who matter, I think we have only scratched the surface of companies paying premium prices for domains. It also helps when big companies like toysrus buy names like toys.com for $5m as it will make people think "hmmmm if a company that size has paid that much for that domain, they must be onto something", and when this is highlighted in the press , bbc and CNN it should in effect have a bigger knock on effect for domain prices increasing.

All imo of course
