Would this be vacuum bags as in the things that are obsolete now because of Mr Dyson.. or the things you put clothes in and suck the air out of them?

Seems like a good sale either way

Yeah, good sale. I think the seller must be quite happy with that.

I don't get it, the only bags I can think of that are still in use are the ones in Henry hoovers.

I wouldn't have paid £50

Remember reading an article somewhere a while ago about businesses that had made millions online from vacuum cleaner bag sales.

Don't know anything about the market(s), but like theonemanyuri, the confusion between whether to go for vacuum cleaners or vacuum storage did make me wonder about value when I saw it up for auction.

I think you'd struggle to make your money back either way wb. How long ago did you read the article about the million pound business? I'm not really qualified to say if there was a market or not, but I'm struggling to imagine there is. Or if there is it must be in sharp decline, surely..?

Must be a few years ago as I would imagine there is plenty more competition around now (although wouldn't surprise me if some of them are still £1m+ turnover).

Haven't bought the bags in a long time but remember the ones branded by manufacturers were pretty expensive, and the demand for unbranded replacements which work exactly the same was high.

A bit like printer ink I guess and the high profit margins which are (or certaintly were) available from refills when not using manufacturer-branded cartridges.

6 million new cleaners sold per year 59% bag less of those 33 % were Dysons, 39 % bagged 2% were dual, Average of 10 bags per year, that 23m+ bags on new sales alone (doesn’t include the million or so commercial and industrial users not sold through retail outlets or secondhand etc or existing owners) retailer mark up 300 % to 400% on aftermarket etc (That doesn’t include any profit made on postage) Such a tiny % needed to make ££££….
