Thats really a ridiculous price for a lll, especially with decent letters.

Especially when the seller is VAT registered.

Cheapest decent one yet?

It's been a bad pattern of sales over the last year or so, perpetuated by bulk sales by certain tag holders at firesale prices. I'm not totally blameless though the one I sold had less used letters.

Not good. Not good at all.

The remaining lll's of mine are now strictly end user or personal projects only.

Whatever happened to LLL.co.uk value ?
Seems there has been an 'adjustment' downward along their .com counterparts.

They have always been a good cash cow type name. Get skint, fire sale at £500 each. But i guess the more domainers who are feeling the pinch with less end user sales (sure I am not alone here) feel the need to sell them cheap.

Top Tip: with checking the history of your LLL's, I've got a minisite on one now making more than £220 a year in adsense alone!

I think you are spot on here, I did notice a downward trend since a few tag holders started carting off some of their stock at good prices but of course the result now is everyone is hoping / expecting them all to sell this cheap now.

I bought a triple letter from DL end of last year, but a few months later I needed some funds so tried to resell it on here, initially for a small profit which failed so I then just tried to get my money back. It was a good combination of letters and threw up dozens of results in google with companies with these letters in their name (I wasn't just sales talking when I put that in my post) and still nobody wanted it for anything less than I paid for it so I just kept it.

This was to my benefit though, just a fortnight afterwards I received a huge £x,xxx offer for it from an end user so I took that instead, would have been kicking myself if it had sold on here. I don't think now is the time to be selling them to other resellers, probably best to hold onto them for now.

LLL have always been more popular with domainers then end user’s, Selling to end users often its “but there not generic or emd so how exactly do they help our business ?” yes there short which may have been a selling point ( but other Tld’s and cctlds are shorter? ) Some might argue “brandable”? For large corporations possibly with the full name already established they can afford to abbreviate it but for most business they don’t really do a lot ? So when they feel the squeeze I suppose there prices will drop although I see nnn seam to fair better maybe more appealing ?

lll.co.uk are (or should be) long-term investments. Trouble is they can also be short-term cash-cows to those who want a few readies.

The difference is a zero (or 2).

Not going to agree with you there. All the lll's I've sold to end users have been to established businesses for a consolidation and/or rebranding.

The one's who come to you - if you're willing to wait - will know their worth.
